Scuba Snorkle
Scuba Snorkle
can somebody inform me about snorkling?
why is it that when you see people scuba diving on tv, with the air tanks....many of them still have a snorkle?
Both previous answers are correct, you can use the snorkel at the surface to conserve the air in your tanks and to avoid waves while swiming towards the boat or shore. In more advance stages (rescue diving) you will learn to use some snorkels to give rescue breaths at the surface.

When is the best time of year to visit Kauai, Hawaii?
I don't like crowds and like to to outdoors activities (hiking, scuba, snorkle, maybe try surfing), and would like to go when the water is clear and weather is pleasant. I'm also coming from the stormy Oregon coast, so a little rain doesn't bother me. For those of you who have gone several times, when was the best time of year and why? (Answers besides "any time," please.)
If you want to be in the water, DO NOT COME DURING WINTER! There are dangerous winter swells that bring jelly fish on shore and more tourists die during the dangerous winter months than any other time of year. April or May would be your best bet. It's still in the off-season, but it's late enough in the year for spring, so the water should be good and the weather may be a little rainy, but warm altogether. It'll be cheaper and you'll beat the mid-June rush of people.
September and October are full of the 'super-savers' trying to get in a vacation after the rush and taking advantage of off-season deals.
Cayman Islands have one of the richest reserves of water life inside the ocean and flora and fauna on land. The preservation of vast spread natural space around the island can greatly be attributed to efforts implemented by government of the country.
At the same time, you may be a real estate investor or a business owner interested in investing money on Grand Cayman businesses. With its steady flow of global tourists, the Grand Cayman today has graduated from a mere adventure or vacation hotspot to a renowned offshore financial and tourism destination. Today, the World Wide Web turns out to be a great platform for global tourists to generate more information on the Grand Cayman Island. Over our independent search engine, professional services of the Grand Cayman are encouraged to place their websites, so that they get global coverage and eventually see a massive increase in their business.
One of the most famous natural attractions in Grand Cayman Island is Stingray City. This is an area in the ocean not far from the northern tip of Grand Cayman where tourists can get up close to hundreds of friendly stingrays. Stingray City will be one of the organized tours from the cruise ships visiting Grand Cayman as a port of call. There will also be tours available from local operators in Georgetown where the cruise ships dock. The cruise organized tours will almost always be the more expensive option but you will save a lot of shore time.
One of most important aspects of the underwater city is the care given to its location at the bottom of the Caribbean Sea. Though surrounded by dense coral reefs on all sides, the site for Atlantis was chosen because no coral needed to be removed to accommodate the sculptures. Furthermore, as the sculptures are made of simple concrete and won't harm any of the area's sea creatures, the city will always be able to support vibrant life. In fact, though the Cayman Atlantis is currently set on several acres of featureless sand, divers will notice that the city has already attracted a wide variety of residents.
The Cayman Islands are consistently rated as one of the safest spots to dive in the world. The Cayman Islands Watersports Operators Association (CIWOA) along with the Department of the Environment ensure that dive procedures and regulations are in place and followed. More than 200 permanent mooring buoys are changed on an annual basis which allows coral regeneration and gives heavily visited dive sites a break from divers, boats, and the resulting impact on the environment.
The Caymen Islands is known for the wonderful reefs it has. These reefs contain a variety of fishes and marine plants that anybody who goes snorkeling or scuba diving will enjoy them. You do not have to worry about your scuba diving and snorkeling equipments as you can just rent them in some stores.
The Cayman Islands are mainly famous for their beaches and sea life, however The Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Park is one exception. For botanists or those wanting a peaceful walk, then this Park is the answer. It is a well-marked mile-long trail winds through lush, easy terrain, featuring almost 300 native species.
