When can I view something astronomical, like a meteor shower, from the tri-state area/NE USA?

When is the next meteor shower going to be visible from the tri-state area? Anything else special that I could see from here? Will I need a telescope?

The Orionids are October 21st.
The Leonids are November 17th.

There are smaller showers in between. You can see meteors every night.

A telescope is a hindrance for meteor showers. These are flashes that happen very quickly. What you need to do is sit out looking at as much sky as you can. You can see the most sky at a time naked eye. Bring something warm - like a blanket.

There are lots of other astronomical objects you could see. Check out the skymaps lists of objects.

My snorkel and Goggles were left un cleaned for a long time and now they are a discoloured orange/pink, can I get them clean again?

Is there a standard outdoors-man's knife that is the best of its kind or would a Navy SEAL knife do the trick?

what kind of knife roll should i buy for a short term cooking class?

Im studying at a culinary school in Italy this summer, it's only for a month. Im going to get a knife set and was told I need a knife roll. when I looked up knife rolls, I found that they range in price big time. Im wondering if the cheaper ones are too flimsy, I dont want the knives to pierce through the roll and mess it up, or rub against each other and dull. I dont think i should get knife guards because I don't know exactly what sizes my knives are going to be...

Forging & Stock Removal

Steel blades are often shaped by forging or removing material. The blades are forged by heating a single piece of steel and shaping the metal is hot with a hammer or press.
