scuba diving Going pro?

the pro status for scuba diving goes from divemaster, open water instructor,specialty instructor, master scuba diver trainer, IDC staff instructor, master instructor, and course director. I have a dive shop that can certify me all the way up to a master instructor but i was wondering how much on average is made by each level.. i know theres alot of things involved whether they own their business or if they just go in for someone in teach classes thats why its just a range im looking for each one.. bc i plan on opening a dive shop once i get my open water inst. cert. but i will continue from there to get the rest but im curious how much will be made not that im looking to be a millionaire from this but only make a good living for me and my family

Wow! You should really slow down with these plans. These certifications are important and take lots of time, especially actual dive log time.

I have spoken to many dive shop operators in my area, (west florida), and find that it is not an easy way to make a living. You really do this for the love of diving.

The more successaful outfits, own boats, rental gear. and teach anything from how to swim, on up to the higher levels you mention. Remember, the economy is not the greatest right now, and many of your potential customers are cutting expenses on luxury hobbies like diving.

This is a great idea you have, but "slow down", and anticipate the unexpected first. Many operators lose their as_es in this field. I would suggest going one step at a time, and be certain you have the market to sustain the investments you are considering.

Deep rest is smuggled across the world every day. However, many options to choose from they are very expensive.

You can reserve each section. Travel separately, you can buy the package holiday, you can be in. liveaboard to the total or form of any of these options.

Popular and relax anywhere.

May place the most popular. (Or at least those who resort option). To stop deep sea diving and all the Caribbean Dominican Republic,. Peninsula of Yucatan Mexico and Jamaica, as well as popular ever. Cozumel. In my idea of Cozumel is the hands down winner is diving.

High End / Low End.

The entire resort to fit all. Budget. You just need to decide what you want. What's important for you or not you rather have food and special foods or drinks that you will be happy to offer the lowest cost and more of you. Wallet? Answers can vary for each trip.

Whether you go and level of service you choose not to hard to be happy. To select a location, your wet suit. Gear and get to!

Scuba Dive Computer

Experienced scuba divers: another question for you, about dive computers!?

How necessary is it to have a dive computer for ocean diving? I'm pretty new at scuba, and the SPG I have is relatively simple with analog gauges.
Thanks for your input!

Computers are really a luxury item. Nice to have but not needed if you know your way around your RDP, have your console and a timer.
You CAN extract a little more bottom time using one and they're great for dives with an up and down profile as they will calculate for you on the fly, so if your plan changes a bit, you're covered. They're also useful in that if you're doing several dives in a day, there's no need to run to your log book before you forget your numbers. Most will log at least 10 separate dives with the times, depths, nitrogen loads, surface intervals and temperatures. Some allow a download to a PC, others will just store 10 dives to memory for later review.

We have all heard the terms "Skin Diving" and "Scuba Diving" and know they are something to do with diving. More specifically, "diving", a "very competitive sport" is "free diving" without the use breathing. The divers use a single breath of air to descend to depths of over 100 million to compete with other diver to reach as deep as possible. With a wide training and yoga a skin divers body reacts like that of "whales and dolphins during a dive skin. The heart rate oxygen decreases and that one lung full of air is concentrated in the heart and brain. A diver is in danger of losing consciousness as he nears the surface after immersion of the skin due to very low oxygen concentration in the brain to reach shallow water. This is called "blackout shallow water.

Diving on the other side is not a competitive sport is now practiced worldwide, not just the athletic young man, but for couples and families as well. Divers descend underwater using breathing apparatus called "diving equipment. Diving word means "Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. This reform of nitrogen gas as the diver rises to the surface after diving. Too much nitrogen absorbed during the dive, not everything can be reformed gas and exhale while ascending, leaving some in the body as a gas (a bubble). This nitrogen gas bubbles may become lodged in a joint, heart, brain or spine, etc., causing decompression sickness (The Bends). The deeper the immersion can spend less time underwater. It is a time of deep the relationship and dive tables or dive computers are used to calculate the amount of time a diver can spend on each dive. (More information by a PADI Open Water Diver)

Dive Regulator

What would you regard as the best Dive Regulator?

At the moment I am diving with a US Divers Conshelf 14, as it is over 25 years old and owes me nothing, I am on the lookout for an equally good or better regulator. Any suggestions?

What, if anything, has so called "technical diving" contributed to recreational scuba? My automatic response to this question would be the following: Technical diving has contributed nothing to recreational diving, except to raise the amplitude of risk for those in sport diving who wish to pursue additional avenues of training. In the same way that the armed services seductively draw in new recruits through the imagery of high technology and personal challenge, sport divers are enticed to experience the "new frontiers" afforded by technical dive training.

For the most part, those who promote "technical dive training" are legitimate, honest, well meaning people who believe that with the "right" equipment and "right" training you can reduce or immunize yourself against the high risks of extended range diving. For those who might still argue that technical diving carries few if any additional risks, I can only call your attention to this past years epidemic of fatalities directly associated with diving activities beyond the range of conventional sport diving. For the most part these deaths fall into two basic categories. The worst and most dangerous of the lot is "deep air" (high nitrogen partial pressure) and the second and more insidious is gross instructor negligence and incompetence. This nightmare imagery only confirms the basic premises and range limitations upon which recreational scuba is based. For years these proscriptions have contributed to the outstanding safety record of sport diving and the consequent robust growth of this industry. It is not coincidental that PADI has recently reduced the maximum allowable depth for air diving to 100 fsw down from 130 fsw. These actions are a subtle recognition that dive related problems are much harder to resolve under the influence of elevated nitrogen partial pressures. Even small problems can cascade into fatal catastrophes under conditions of extreme diving. The best solution is to anticipate and avoid problems well before they occur. This simple statement applies to all forms of diving, from recreational to extreme technical.

Diving is a fun and popular sport. However, there are some steps every diver should follow to ensure that you are diving safely.

Diving Safety Rules:

Follow proper training

Being comfortable underwater will go a long way to have the dive safely. Adequate training is key to being comfortable underwater. The emergence of training is adequate to get your open water certification. If you go diving in caves, caverns, wrecks, etc., must also have been trained for this type of diving. Do not dive beyond your capabilities.

Never dive alone

Always dive with a friend, no matter where you are. That's the key. When you dive with a buddy, keep an eye on him / her to ensure that everything goes well (and I hope you do the same). If anything, a friend who can make the difference between life and death. Never undermine the rule. They are also a pre-audit of diving equipment with your friend.

Being physically fit

Diving Dive Log

I lost my Padi Log Book, can dive centers access my number of dives? I'm working to divemaster...?

No. That's a reason why you keep that log book. They don't put surveillance on you to see when you dive or how often, so they'll have no idea. All they'll know is your certs, when you got them and who certified you.
If you're doing your DM with the same shop you did your advanced, they'll have a handle on the number of dives you've done and the types of dives. They're probably the ones that filled your tanks. Quite a few shops won't ask that you produce that book if they know you. If it's a new place you're doing it with, they may ask for a skills assessment.

Diving is one of the best water-related activities to do. While diving, not just get to swim and enjoy the warm waters and beautiful sunshine, but also get to see the wonderful marine life. Some of the best dive sites around the world are fast becoming a haven for people who want to enjoy holiday scuba diving, and one of the most popular is the land of Egypt, as it has several places where you can enjoy diving.

It's a good idea to get your scuba diving certification before starting your holiday. You can get part of the certificate while you are in their country of origin and not the rest, while on vacation. Thus, you can make your classroom and pool work where you live, then do open water dives in the country you are visiting in order to maximize your dive time diving during their vacation. Be sure to bring your diving certificate, log book and certificate physician in the holiday with you.

uk scuba diving advice?

well today i did my first two dives for open water up a capernray it was freezing the first dive wasnt so bad becuase we were moving around but the second was unbelivebly cold that my hands couldnt move at all and i even struggled to inflate my bcd and equalize does anyone have anyways of keeping my hands not as cold wilst scuba diving except dry suit gloves?

I'm afraid there isn't much you can do here ( I assume you own a decent pair of wet suit gloves). Your second dive is ALWAYS going to be colder than the first. Just make sure that the gloves you have, fit properly and have minimal water movement in them. Gauntlets are better than shorter gloves in this regard, as they seal over your forearm, against your suit and don't leave a gap at the wrist, like normal gloves can. I feel your "pain". I regularly ice dive, over winter and I'm usually only good for 30 minutes on the first and 25 minutes on the second dive.

Hello, I need a console (pressure and depth gauges), where the scuba diving equipment (Smart z with sender).?

I am a novice open water diver (17 dives) and have had no experience with diving computers like to know if I need a backup for the team.
