Books Scuba Diving?

I want to buy one of my friends a book about scuba diving for his birthday - it was something he always wanted to do. None of the books you recommend would be great! Thank you

The PADI or NAUI course manual is a waste of money to buy. If he takes the course is included and it is really useless in the study forward, as he really needs to be lived in a environment of the classroom anyway. They do not cover some aspects, such as types of devices and manufacturers, for example. There are a number of books on diving Underwater on the market, the two divers About Real as The Last Dive (excellent read) and Diver Down (prevention of accidents) Travel books like The Scuba Companion Diver's, Termination of dive sites and facilities in the world. A good general is scuba diving Handbook, a guide to salt and Diving freshwater. These are just a few of those around I kicked on my shelves. If you really want to take it seriously and you think of this boyfriend could get in diving peak later, there is always the USN Diver Manual. It is usually a little difficult to find an updated copy, but it covers almost all aspects of diving, diving medicine, procedures for mixed gas, saturation diving and a slew all the rest. It is not light reading. Good luck and hope your friend takes it and goes to MY office.
