A good island/area for conservative older folks to snorkel, swim and enjoy nature in May?
Hi, I am trying to decide where to "send off" my parents for their vacation in May. They are both quiet and conservative and would feel uncomfortable in the middle of some nightclub hot-spot like South Beach. What they look for is a drama-free place where they could see some fish with snorkeling, sit on the beach and view some tropical nature. Any tips would be great!
In the US, how about the Gulf Coast, like Captiva Island or Sanibel or other places around Ft Myers? It's gorgeous there. Or someplace calm in the Florida Keys. Lots of shelling on the beaches too. You could also send them to a resort in Puerto Rico. There's a US National Park there that's a rainforest, and the beaches are gorgeous, especially around Luquillo or Rincon. It's small so with a rental car or a tour they can see some really cool stuff.

Some of the activities of Spain's most popular Caribbean sailing, swimming and snorkeling. The crystalline waters of the Caribbean is beautiful, and you can see some pretty amazing things in waves. However, you may eventually see the bill is quite surprising for leisure, which can quickly put a damper on your budget proposals for the holidays. But do not despair. Some Easy ways to save money on your sailing, swimming, diving and snorkeling adventures.
The first way to save money is to look for package deals. Sometimes you can get an excellent rate of excursions and activities through your hotel or travel agent. Often, these packages will roll transport, accommodation, equipment rental and activities into one price. If you catch these packages when they are on sale or when the travel agency is to have a special promotion, you can save a ton. However, it pays for a breakdown of what each list item costs before you commit the package. Do your research and you may even find that you can rent a yacht on your own for less.
When it comes to research swimming on the beaches, check if your hotel has its own beach. In some places in the Caribbean it is rare to find a strip of beach that has certain undertakings or hotel related. Many beaches directly connected to a hotel are regarded as private beaches and hotels are not as non-guests to dive into the beach related to their field. You do not want to pay to swim, to keep that in mind when considering hotels and factor this cost into the price of hotel when booking.
Navigation can be great fun, but finding a boat to rent at low prices might not be. You have two options in this case: rent a boat with a crew to take you on the waves or rent pilot boat as yourself. Hire a crew to go with your boat will cost more, of course, but it is also the only option for many people. Time is also a factor here: it is only a certain number of boats available and least expensive are often rented early during the day. Keep this in mind and make your reservations to sail as soon as possible.
Snorkeling often involves a boat, too, especially if you want to leave when the really interesting fish and coral are. Again, exit to the port and rent your boat at the beginning or to book as soon as you can. Your hotel staff can help you find boats snorkeling, but it never hurts to do research yourself and ask the locals. Snorkeling is often understood as an activity on cruise lines, so consider that too. Just remember that you might be able to find a better deal for yourself instead of going through your cruise or vacation package service hotel.
Swimming, Diving Snorkeling and navigation can be very fun, but if you're not careful, they can cost a lot of money. Always check around to find the best deals and once you find them, make your reservations early so that nobody else in dark and buffers that many of you!
