Experienced scuba divers: another question for you, about dive computers!?
How necessary is it to have a dive computer for ocean diving? I'm pretty new at scuba, and the SPG I have is relatively simple with analog gauges.

Computers are really a luxury item. Nice to have but not needed if you know your way around your RDP, have your console and a timer.
You CAN extract a little more bottom time using one and they're great for dives with an up and down profile as they will calculate for you on the fly, so if your plan changes a bit, you're covered. They're also useful in that if you're doing several dives in a day, there's no need to run to your log book before you forget your numbers. Most will log at least 10 separate dives with the times, depths, nitrogen loads, surface intervals and temperatures. Some allow a download to a PC, others will just store 10 dives to memory for later review.

We have all heard the terms "Skin Diving" and "Scuba Diving" and know they are something to do with diving. More specifically, "diving", a "very competitive sport" is "free diving" without the use breathing. The divers use a single breath of air to descend to depths of over 100 million to compete with other diver to reach as deep as possible. With a wide training and yoga a skin divers body reacts like that of "whales and dolphins during a dive skin. The heart rate oxygen decreases and that one lung full of air is concentrated in the heart and brain. A diver is in danger of losing consciousness as he nears the surface after immersion of the skin due to very low oxygen concentration in the brain to reach shallow water. This is called "blackout shallow water.
Diving on the other side is not a competitive sport is now practiced worldwide, not just the athletic young man, but for couples and families as well. Divers descend underwater using breathing apparatus called "diving equipment. Diving word means "Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. The deeper the dive more pressure that is exerted on the the air we breathe causing the nitrogen to be absorbed in the form of a liquid into the bloodstream and tissues. This reform of nitrogen gas as the diver rises to the surface after diving. Too much nitrogen absorbed during the dive, not everything can be reformed gas and exhale while ascending, leaving some in the body as a gas (a bubble). This nitrogen gas bubbles may become lodged in a joint, heart, brain or spine, etc., causing decompression sickness (The Bends). The deeper the immersion can spend less time underwater. It is a time of deep the relationship and dive tables or dive computers are used to calculate the amount of time a diver can spend on each dive. (More information by a PADI Open Water Diver)
