How does buoyancy affect a scuba diver? plzz help?

scuba divers carry lead weights to help them get to the bottom: otherwise they could never reach and stay on the bottom. The extra weight can be effectively lightened by pumping air into their BC (buoyancy control) vest. This allows them to maintain a certain depth and control their rate of descent/ascent. Air is added or released from the vest depending on requirements. Air is added via their tank or by mouth. The science behind it relates to the change in density of the diver inlcuding his gear. By adding low density air to the vest the density of diver and attached gear is reduced, making him/her lighter.
