what does the purge buttton in a scuba purge, water or exhaust?
why is it important to purge always prior to taking the first breath?
-The purge button on the second stage of the regulator (the first stage is the one connected to the valve of the cylinder) has the function,when pressed,to blow out the water from the second stage,allowing you to breath the air that can flows in it.
-The other system to clean the second stage from water ( if your lungs are filled with air) is to blow air in it,before to try to breath.
Both the systems are valid,while you are diving,in order to purge the second stage.
Note :when the mouth piece of it is not in your mouth,water enters from there in the second stage.
-Pressing the button,or blowing out air in it,from your lungs,creates the opening of a valve on the base of the second stage, and the exit of the water from there.
At that point you can breath safely.
When you exale air , it will escape from the second stage from the same very valve.
-Another use of this button ,is to allow you to check (pressing it) if the valve of the air is opened and the device functioning. But the best test,is to have the mouth piece in the mouth,and trying to breath.The air should flow in your mouth without efforts.

â € œIt can be a scary thought (while sitting under a Delayed Surface Marker Buoy decompress) wondered if the boat has seen, or if they drift in lonesomeâ € said Alex Vassallo, Custom Divers CEO. ⠀ œOn decorated as his imagination can play horrible with YOU. that tend to keep the mines occupied by the thought of the things that make diving safer, and this was the place where the radar detectable D Divers Custom Search SMB was conceived. wanted to be sure that the boat had seen my D-SMB, so the solution was to make radar detectable. Basically, the form is a traditional D-SMB containing a conductive material in the form of receiving and returning radar signals. sounds simple, but the search took more than three years of research, development and testing until we actually meet a full patent pending product that will revolutionize the safety diver.
During the development phase was tested every time I went diving, and over several months, is successful, but I felt that was not enough.   I wanted to improve the detectable distance Seeker. With the new changes in design and materials the Finder then re-tested by the captains of several in the South Coast of English to verify their implementation, on their radar, and thanks guys for all your support.en After several evolvements a sea captain called to say â € model '€ This is brilliant! and therefore considered it appropriate to run the tests more comprehensive and more extensive and at this stage that involved the RNLI (Royal National Institute of Lifeboats) and his Majesty € ™ sa Coastguard. I am pleased to confirm that the D-Seeker SMB appeared on the radars of ships of 1.5 miles and 2 miles helicopters. The tests were carried out in the British seas, over a long period of time under various conditions and includes a black field simulation / fog search. The pattern would be purely navigate using the radar (with a guard looking through the windscreen, to check that didnâ € ™ t run on anything) and in each occasion, boats and helicopters located the buoy with ease, finishing in a few feet of Seeker. From the Skipper / Rescue Services point of view great thing about the radar detects SMB Last second is that because it is fully compatible with all radar system there is no need for any additional kit.
For the diver, form a key feature is that it has a four-way fill option. Having seen many a diver forget to refill your bottle of D-crack SMB I wanted come up with a number of filler solutions. First, it can be easily inflated by mouth, blowing a tube. Alternatively we have installed a non-locking mounting nipple oral tube that connects to a low inflation pressure hose. Then there is the system that a number of divers already use, it is to break a small air cylinder to fill the D-SMB. (The diver needs to replace the Seekerâ ™ € s court with a DIN plug or an adapter before Pilar Clamp AP Valves one liters of 0.1, bottle of 232 bar is attached).  Finally, the diver can fill the D-SMB search in the traditional way of serving a second stage in the background of buoy.Â
