I'm thinking about going to buy scuba dive gear from Eilat next week. Can anybody tell me a) if it is really tax-free, b) what shops I should visit. I am looking to buy a BCD, regulater etc, mares women's isotherm semi-dry, Cressi fins & mask c) is it safe right now and d) if I go and come from Egypt will i end up paying tax at the border on the return journey.

Diving equipment is more complex than some think. For the most part, people think that if you have a sufficient quantity of air and palms feet, you're ready to dive. Wrong. I suppose this approach would work for the passionate scuba-relaxed, but there much more material needed for a good scuba tank and flippers. If you take seriously about diving, are all the parts equipment you'll need and why.
