Malindi - Watamu Marine Reserve
Over 100 species of hard corals were identified, but relatively few soft corals due to a combination of wave action and turbulence in shallow water. More easily recognizable are mushroom coral (Porites) produced up to 4 meters in diameter. They are generally very grazed by Parrot which can be seen by scratches on the surface of coral.
Surgeon, perch, parrotfish, angelfish, puffer fish, butterfly fish, triggerfish and many, many others are breathtaking display of variety and color. Best Time to Dive - The best time of year for most of the dive sites in November before the rains in the short term until March before the start of long rains.
