what is the gear like tool that prevents eddy current called?
hello
i was asked to research on this gear but i don't know what its called it kinda looks like some sort of gear or screw (it has a couple layers) I know its used to prevent eddy currents.
can someone help?

Actually i did some more research and i found it looks like a adhesive laminated core can someone confirm that my description above matches (just to make sure)
If you are talking about a copper ring that exist on transformers used in Microwave ovens and welders, they are called "magnetic shunt." This is a shunt for eddy current, and it works to prevent excessive magnetic flux in the transformer, thus preventing excessive current in the secondary.
