How to dry out a shark dorsal fin?
I went fishing yesterday and caught a 6 ft mako shark. I fileted the meat and kept the dorsal fin. I want to hang the fin in my room but i do not know how to dry it out.
Salt it and let it dry for about 5 or 6 years. It needs to hang so air can get to it. Keep the other fins too.
That's the way the Chinese do it.

In today's world, where environmental concerns are increasingly in demand for cleaning methods that respect the environment is increasing. Traditional methods of cleaning such as pressure washing have been monitoring. Companies are turning to greener alternatives.
Such an alternative is dry ice blasting. It is considered superior to other traditional methods, such as scrapers, sanders and wire brushes. This process is known for saving time and cleans as thoroughly and cleanly or more relatively minor.
This is also faster and win time. It is used in any industry that has teams that must be cleaned regularly, such as automobiles, power plants, aviation, packaging, plastics and many others. What is dry ice
Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide (CO 2). Dry ice is hard as a cast and atmospheric pressure at a temperature of sublimation of-78oC.
Dry ice blasting
Dry Ice Blasting or CO2 blasting is a process in which pellets of dry ice (about the size of grains of rice) are triggered a nozzle at a supersonic speed to remove the waste oil equipment, paint, ink, glue, dirt, fat, food, mold release agents, rubber and various other pollutants. The pellets are accelerated by compressed air. The moment of impact dry ice turns from a solid to gas without passing through the liquid phase.
There are three phases in a cryogenic cleaning process.

• No water or harsh chemicals are used in the process, so there is no additional waste generated.
• There is no risk of diversion and pressure washing.
Precautions
However, some security measures should be taken while conducting the process:
• Adequate ventilation is a necessity. CO2 can be dangerous when concentrated in confined spaces. The CO2 is 50 percent heavier than air and can displace oxygen and suffocate a person if ventilation is adequate.
• It is essential to put earplugs, because the process generates a deafening noise.
• The temperature of dry ice can be as low as -110 degrees F and immediately you can freeze the skin. Wear gloves when handling ice dry.
• Always wear protective clothing, handling shield CO2 pellets or dry ice blasting unit.
