How deep can a scuba diver be certified for with tanks of compressed air and a scuba mask?
This is a duplicate question so I'll just bring my answer from the other one, over here.
The recognized limit is 130 feet for an advanced level recreational diver on air. This is not necessarily the limit that a technical diver may restrict himself to. It's not uncommon for a experienced tech diver that dives within their ability, to go to 150 to 170 feet on normal air. I've known a few that have dived 240 feet on a regular basis. They also happen to be experienced and have the proper training and equipment and observe decompression obligations.
That number of 130 feet is just that. A number that the certifying agencies have come up with for the average diver with average equipment and training, that in most cases will be safe for the diver.
The reverse can be true as well. There are some divers who can't get to 90 feet without being seriously nitrogen impaired.

Do not let the restrictions of view you from enjoying the sea life in his next diving or snorkeling experience. Be sure to take advantage of every possible to increase its field of view.
Many of us suffer from myopia (difficulty seeing distant objects) or farsightedness (difficulty seeing close objects). In everyday life people face these problems by using some type of corrective lenses such as eyeglasses or contact lenses. Another way is becoming increasingly popular is laser eye surgery that restores good vision without a future dependency on corrective lenses. This procedure can cost many thousands of dollars and most insurance companies do not cover this type of surgery.
Seeing underwater is a story different. Contact lenses can be worn when diving because the mask provides an air pocket between your eyes and water. Soft contact lenses more common and economic contacts are disposable. These are best for use when diving or snorkeling, because if the mask or flooding down for any reason it is inexpensive replacing the lost lens. Some users may contact a spare set of your dive gear in the case of the diving mask.
Part very important part of your scuba diving equipment is the mask. It helps provide a clear set of vision for the diver. Many diving masks can be purchased with corrective lenses satisfactory for the needs of people. Consult your eye doctor once a year to get the recipe you require. In general, optical lenses are available in a broad range -1.0 to -8.5 (for nearsightedness), and 1.0 to 4.0 (for vision). The lenses may be plastic or glass. Keep this in mind when looking for a scuba diving mask properly.
You should see what you're missing
One of the most gratifying sensations of diving is to observe marine life in its natural environment. Do not cut corners when it comes to your scuba gear, get what best suits to their needs.
