Dive Diving Snorkeling
Where can I scuba dive or snorkel in Singapore?
Is there a place in SIngapore where I can take scuba diving lessons? Or go snorkeling?
I just moved here a month ago and looking for some fun activities... Any suggestions beyond the above mentioned ones will be highly appreciated!
I am not sure if there is any good place for diving or snorkeling in Singapore. Sentosa island is quite a disappointment for me, rather artificial.
I would suggest get out of Singapore and fly (or drive or catch bus/train) to Malaysia. I think the closest diving/snorkeling spot from Singapore is Tioman island, not too far from Johor Bahru (in case you don't realize, it is only 5 hours bus ride from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, and going to Johor is doable by regular public transport). Beautiful island, and they have diving school and of course people who can take you out for snorkeling and diving. It also has some beautiful snorkeling spots just off the beach. If you do go there, try ABC village. I had a wonderful time there.
Other beautiful places for diving and snorkeling are Redang island and Perhentian island. But they are both in the northern part of Malaysia. Enjoy!

When traveling to Akumal Mexico one nearly passes this small quiet village by without knowing it is actually one of the best places in the Caribbean coast for diving and snorkeling in the Yucatan Peninsula. Akumal is located just 65 miles south of the Hotel Zone of Cancun and 50 kilometers from the airport Mexico. It may be small, but it is the ideal holiday for families or divers who wish to leave to escape the daily grind often crowded beaches Mexico. Located in Akumal two bays quiet and Yalku Lagoon which is perfect for family swimming or snorkeling. The area has 30 beautiful reef sites that are ideal for diving while the beautiful white sand beaches invite you to relax in the sun of Mexico.
There are many accommodations in Akumal, five different restaurants offering local and European dishes, several grocery stores, some boutiques or gift shops, plus a large shop diving. Most of these attractions are within 15 minutes walk from each other. The best part of this small town is that if you are interested in snorkeling, diving, fishing or simply relax under the warm sun of Mexico find you can walk in different locations, although buses and taxis are available if they want.
Temperatures of around Akumal near 80 degrees during the September to April and during the rest of the year can expect temperatures of 90 degrees. The area receives a gentle sea breeze in the Caribbean, Near and during the winter season, may need a sweater at night.
