Do I need a flag to spearfish or hunt lobster in SoCal if I'm snorkeling?

I know I need a liscence and i know that i would need a flag if I were using SCUBA gear, but under any circumstances would I need a flag in Southern California.

Regardless of whether it is being used for snorkelling or scuba trips, any support boat for in-water activities should be flying the 'divers down' flag (red with diagonal white stripe, or the international 'A-flag'--or both) until all passengers have reboarded. Other boats are legally required to motor well clear of diveboats flying this flag (at least 30-50 yards/metres, under most jurisdictions), and may only approach at idle speed/dead slow/<5 knots, to minimise the risk of accidental collision with swimmers.

Divers themselves do not necessarily have to tow a marker float (with or without 'flag')--but would be well-advised to do so anywhere there is other boating traffic, if feasible, since it increases their visibility to other boats (and also their own boat cover), and thus their safety. The same would apply to a snorkeller, especially if they were planning to freedive for spearfishing/collection purposes. Snorkellers/freedivers would also be well-advised to follow the 'buddy system', with one on the surface while the other dives.

Boats should not be left unmanned in open water, even if anchored--and the person(s) left aboard should be capable of operating the boat/radio unassisted (and must certified/licensed to do so if the boat is being used for commercial activities). Thus, for a dive trip, this means that there should be at least 3 people aboard (1 crew, 2 divers), and preferably 4 (i.e. 2 crew) for commercial operation.

What is a really moisturizing face cream/lotion for my ultra dry skin?

I have sensitive, ultra dry skin and Im looking for a good moisturizer. I would like a drugstore/ulta/grocery store brand because Im on a bit of a budget.
Preferably oil-free and without an spf. I also am prone to the occasional mild breackout. Ive heard aveeno has a good one? Please, please reccomend something!!!!

Diving Dive Mask
When I dive I get water in my ears. What works better ear plugs (w/holes for diving) or mask w/ear protection?

I am looking for the best solution to ear protection (water entering the ear) when I scuba dive.
I am told that ear plugs with holes (made for diving) allow you to equalize. Which I have no problem doing. However, I am tring to find out what works better protecting the ears. The plugs (made for diving) or the mask with ear protection. Perhaps someone tried them both for an honest answer. Thank you.

What causes pressure drop in my compressed air system and how can I reduce it?

Answer:
The pressure drop may become a problem of compressed air system that flies the time of production and money.

What are the causes of drop? Any type of obstruction, restriction, or roughness in the system will the resistance to air flow and pressure drop case.
In the distribution system pressure drops generally are the points use, including undersized or leaking pipes, tubes, disconnects, filters, regulators and lubricators (RSF).

On the supply side of the system, air / lubricant coolers, moisture separators, dryers and filters may be the main factors that cause pressure drops significantly. The maximum pressure drop of supply to point of use occurs when the compressed air flow and temperature are higher.

Your compressed air system components must be chosen based on these conditions and the manufacturer of each component must be requested to supply pressure drop information under these conditions.

I have connected my guitar through my amp to my headphone jack, but the sound only comes through my laptop speakers. is there a way to connect the guitar to my speakers and then my speakers can go in the headphone jack on my laptop?

You would most likely have to get the kit from an appliance repair shop or the factory. You should know what your doing when attempting this. Things can go wrong with gas. Most likely the kit will have a spring for the gas valve pressure( propane is a high pressure) and some smaller orifices and a sticker to put on the range saying it has been converted.

Diving Knife
Do you need a diving knife when you are skin diving?

I can understand that if you go scuba diving that you might need a knife because you are down there so long, but when you are skin diving you are only underwater a couple of minutes. Do you need a knife when you are skin diving? If so give me some advice on what kind I should get. Thanks

It would be a good idea to have one with you when you are doing any type of diving. I've used mine to cut fishing line at 15ft all the way down to cutting an old net at 80ft. It's also darn useful to have when you are tying stuff down and have to cut the ropes. I have found the blunt nose ones to work best for me as I don't risk poking holes in my drysuit with them. It took a while to get here, swimming in the ocean as a way to get better. I was tired of eating every two days. Just can not get me to do a run or a hike. And I'd be missing the ocean as well. thinking I might have a brief working visit and get a quick exit, I went for a short swim.

Before I knew it, I'm going three times a week for over a month. Making it a strong swim without resting. And I could not see, really see new lines, new shadows on the body I had not seen for a long time. Then, I decided. That would be my new way of developing. Two to three times a week, I swim for 20-30 minutes (Of course, I timed). And we'll see.

Shortly after the first month, I watched Jaws on TV one night. And then, just later in the same night, I watched "Shark Attack" on Animal Planet. Oh, baby. That was it. Scared me mad all over again. But I built my swim. I can not stop now. So what do I do? Uh-huh. out my sharp knife and diving strap my right calf.

Now I'm standing on the shore again, the heating for swimming. My dive knife is on my leg and I do not feel much better. Come. I know I stand little chance against a shark. Shoot. absolute chance is better that way. Man, I'm afraid. I swam more than 10 minutes right on the ocean, then back again. Just me. But I have to. I just can not stop.
