Where is the best place to book a stay for diving?
I'm based in London and just received my Openwater Diver PADI Cert. I have a passion for me and a buddy to go on a break from diving - but you do not know the best way to do it. Are there any clubs London organizing such trips (either inside or outside the United Kingdom) or any companies that specialize in diving vacation getaways? Or is it better to have hoilday a standard for a submarine station (ie, Sharm El Sheikh) and organize the dive trip, when I'm there?
You can get some Bargains really good in Egypt on the coast of the Red Sea at this time of year. There are several organizations diving holiday organizing trips. I used Tony Backhurst Scuba (website at www. Scuba.co.uk) many times. They meet for both experienced and inexperienced divers. You could even go to your advanced water cert Open while you're there it consists mainly of the experience of diving with only a little bit of extra stuff-Bookwork practical rather than theoretical. Personally, I would hold my dives before being sure you can get booked in. You can also chat with them here on the type of diving you want to do etc etc before leaving. There are many other places you can go around the world but Egypt is quite Jacked Up for divers with some very good prices too. The groups are mainly go divers if the etc airlines are very familiar with the material so diving luggage if you want to go through a larger group then best to contact your local dive centers or the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) there are clubs everywhere, their website is www.bsac.com & you can obtain information on all the clubs in your area.

Scuba diving is dangerous?
How many people die every year in accidents diving?
In the world of recreational diving, there were approximately 160 deaths in 2007. I got that from the link provided scubabob. Without going into details of death I want to emphasize a few things: 1. There are millions of dives completed each year. For example, the last resort, I'm gone they have 4 boats Each boat holds at least 15 divers (we had 16 on our space for more). Each week they do at least 20 dives. There are 50 weeks each year that the station operates. Who is 60,000 dives made each year. If all deaths occurred at this station, there would have been 0.25% chance to die on one of their dives. Incidentally, this island has had five other dive operators on it with a similar timetable. Start adding up all stations around the world, the people with private boats, and people who are shore dives, and you get millions of dives per year. 2. Deaths Diving can be divided into two broad categories: errors diver (eg drowning) and cardiac arrest. For Standard diver, not turn it around monitoring your air pressure to remain under water while watching the pressure gauge .. I have never run out of air on a dive because I check my air. I have gotten low a couple of times. I knew that I was weak because I watched my air. Air also like other back-up, my dive buddy is nearby to share if necessary. For cardiac arrest, it happens. Scuba diving is not difficult but it can lead to a few things. Putting on a wetsuit in the sun, dragging around some heavy equipment, maybe make an effort more physical than someone who is accustomed. If you lead a healthy lifestyle through exercise as part of it, you should have no problems with diving.

I'm going diving and the need to take half underwater and half over water picture? Any tips?
How Can I take water excellent split / photos land? I have a SeaLife DC800 and I was wondering if anyone has good advice. Thank you.
This camera has a wide angle lens built in. All you can do with it. Just a matter of trial and error.

Can you become certified in scuba diving by yourself, or do you need to have a partner?
I'm eager to get certification for diving but I have no one to take over with all my friends are afraid of scuba diving. It will dive shops even if you certify you're solo?
Register to attend a group. In my week class, I will usually be about 10-20% of students take the class themselves, and they do not have diving friends / family. I set out to become certified for a long time because I did not "buddy dedicated. I was in a group. Now it's more about 10 years later, many of my closest friends have been achieved thanks to scuba diving. I also would avoid the term "solo diver. There are several levels of certification for experienced divers who allow them to dive without a buddy, but this is beyond the scope of recreational diving. Some people Industry does not like the idea of solo diving.

How much does it cost to buy diving equipment base?
When replying please provide list of diving equipment base with prices, and a list of scuba accessories with prices. Scuba Diving Snorkel not please
Equipment includes basic dive BCD $ 250 - $ 600 Tank $ 150 - $ 200 Regs $ 250 - $ 600 add a computer to add $ 250 - $ 1700 mask fins, snorkel $ 80 - $ 200 Full Wet Suit by type and size of $ 100 - $ 800 I know it's a big price difference, but depending on where and when you dive will affect the type of equipment you buy. Dive into the warm waters of the Flordia Keys and diving in the cold waters of the North Atlantic will need different types of gear. Also depends on how many bells' and whistles "that you are looking for. Scuba gear is an investment, treated well it will last you years. Remember that these things can save your life so do not look "good business" and sacrifice quality for the price. This price may be your life. I can not stress enough to have your equipment serviced by a professional. You can also tend to get better price if you talk to a store and buying a complete package as opposed to one piece at a time. Hope this helps a little.

Scuba Diving Watch Question?
I have an underwater Citizen Hyper Aqualand dive watch and I just noticed the bracelet she has the ND words limit on this. It also has two sets of numbers, one for depth, and time for ND and I was wondering what time and ND ND is to limit / means thank you!
Without knowing exactly without seeing the bracelet I hazard a guess at "no-limit-decompression". This means as how long you can keep the depth at her side before you go to mandatory deco stops. In fact, I am almost 100% is it going to be now, I think. Nothing else really makes sense!

Scuba-diving craft training (how long does it take?
How long does it form in recreational diving? I am interested to see some coral reefs and marine life interesting. Also, if anyone has any opinions / advice on schools in Toronto that would be great. ps. I have average skills swimming Thank you!
It can take as little as one week for the time it takes to do. It's your timing and dive shop that you need to work. In Ontario, (I live north of Toronto), you will not be at the public pool which may extend your travel time for a spot opens. There are also a couple of alternative approaches to learning. PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) offers an online course (for your university) as well as what is called an orientation tour. The reference works this way. You do your pool of academic expertise and working here in a PADI shop. There is only one thing left is your actual open water dives to complete certification. You can have that part of being transferred to a holiday destination with a PADI shop. (They are everywhere) You do not your two dives in warm water and are certified. I'm not a big fan of it, but thought I mention it as another option for you. I am not a big fan because you'll learn more here as well be on stimulating environment a little more. There will be no surprise if you decide to Ontario waters plunge ever, as opposed to learning is not there and be surprised ... Just when you thought you knew all this. Water Cold teach these fishermen are a little more than warm experienced divers only. There is a little more knowledge that is not taught in an environment hot water. Incidentally, do not let the cold and hot conditions you throw. You'll be just as hot here as you would in the south because we wear a protective appropriate exposure. You just dress for the weather. Nobody turns blue. Regarding the local dive centers that can help you. Much depends on where in the GTA you are, so I'll name a few around. Scuba 2000. Thornhill. This place is like a puppy mill for divers. Not my cup of tea, but you ultimately you want to learn with. Sub Aqua Scuba. Richmond Hill. The owner's name is Norbert .. good guy .. good shop, good training. Colt Creek Diving: Newmarket on Eagle Street. This is the shop I use. I use it .. I must love him.
I know that all instructors .. there are first class and wreck dive with them all. Owner's name is Brad. The dive shop: on Davis Drive Newmarket. The owner's name is Jim. Good store, not sure of the instructors, however. Upper Canada Diving: Scarborough. I do not know anyone in this store. You yourself are there but it is always useful to visit them and see if you are comfortable with them. Aquarius Scuba: Scarlett & Dundas area road. I never met anyone in this shop so I can not advise. I'll throw one in there of Barrie area just in case and that Tim Supplies Diving. Good store, well educated and they have their own training pool.

All recommendations for the insurance scuba diving?
Looking to go in a week, but most insurers are fairly general and do not approach these sports. Would you recommend any companies in the United Kingdom or the things that we should include in the policy? Thank you
Check out Dan, the Divers Alert Network. I think they have a diving insurance, even if I am not sure what they have for the United Kingdom. Www.dan.org

Diving in the Caribbean?
husband and I plan to make scuba diving during the (Christmas 10 days). we choose an "all inclusive" plan because it is more convenient. However, we are still not sure where. We want to spend the least money as possible on the homes and save more to scuba diving, but do not want to go to Cozumel, for example if Riviera Maya is much more to offer and a price difference is negligible. bottom line, we want to do lots of scuba diving, but do not want to spend lots of money. I heard Cozumel is the cheapest, but I was not really impressed by the photos I saw on the Internet or magazine Sport Diver. Any suggestion is welcome. Thank you.
If you reef diving, you're after, you're better than Coz on the Riviera Maya, if you have the choice between the two. Sorry .. but there it is. There is more variety on Coz. I understand you and your husband are not trained cave (which is the draw for MR). Coz has the tail of the Central American barrier reef in all levels of competence, on the other, but not the caves (cenotes) is everything. Can not beat the price either. If money is no object then there is the Belize and Honduras, which is where the barrier reef Coz starts from. The accommodations can be a bit more because you pay for the removal "of the place and the trip requires a certain island to island sometimes. Many areas, a little more Coz that is all. There are also Bonnaire as a possible destination. You can easily rent a car, travel the coast road and jump in any place and guaranteed a beautiful dive. A bit expensive though. I went to all the destinations I have mentioned here. If I really want to leave, the Belize or Honduras. If I want quick, cheap and good dive, it is Coz. Honestly, I hated my stay in MR and chose to stay Coz now and if I wanted to do a few dives to cave, I take the ferry across for trips. Too many young college students in MR to my taste.

What is the best place / place to learn scuba diving in the Philippines?
I plan to learn scuba diving in the Philippines but I like the place for cheap but it has much to offer in terms of the beauty of the dive sites. If you can give an estimate how I passed for a period of time for diving and accommodation, which will be very appreciated. Thank you! OK, I came across a few choices: Puerto Galera, Anilao, and Palawan. Which is better? Let me know. And if you have other suggestions, which will be great. Thank you!
If you like the idea a wreck dive rather than reefs, I recommend the Subic Bay. $ 40 a night at the Boardwalk Hotel and $ 360 for 4 dives, instruction 1:1 complete with equipment rental, etc. Butch the Scuba shack just opposite the hotel. If you go tell him that Keith has recommended and Michelle sends her greetings.
