Volunteer Rescue Diver?
I am an Advanced Open Water Diver going for my Rescue Divers certificate. I don't care about earning a living while diving but I do want to volunteer as a Rescue Diver when certified.
Where do I go or who do I see about offering my experience? Fire or police? Who would I contact?
It varies by community. In our county, the rescue dive team is separate from both fire and police, and has members of both groups. Presently, it is led by a fire chief. My guess is that if you ask the police chief or a fire chief, they could tell you the scoop for your area.
