Located 200 nautical miles east of Bali, Komodo National Park is nestled between the major islands of Sumbawa and Flores, all of which are part of Indonesia Lesser Sunda Islands (Nusa Tenggara on current maps).

This is the epicenter of world marine diversity and you see lots of things here on a cruise diving you just will not see anywhere else in the world - from whale sharks, sunfish, manta rays and eagle rays to pygmy seahorses, Pipefish ornate ghost, clown frogfish, nudibranchs and ringed - all at home amongst a spectacular range of colorful sponges, sea squirts, tunicates and coral - the sky an avid macro.

Geologically, Komodo and Rinca are part of Flores, separate from Sumbawa to the west by Sape Strait. In the middle of the Strait, the bottom drops to about 300 meters. The numerous islands and relatively shallow seas between Flores and the coast West Komodo average current very rapid changes in tide, especially when tidal waters higher in the Pacific flows north across the Indian Ocean to the south. The upwelling of deep seas surrounding bring nutrients and plankton to keep the waters of Komodo rich and well fed.

Unlike other parts of Indonesia, the reefs around the southern islands suffered damage relatively some fishing with dynamite. Much of the area is now in protecting the national park. The shallow reefs between Flores and the northern region however, were bombed in the past but are now recovering their former glory. The affected area covers about 15% of the archipelago, and even here, steep drops and current swept points offer excellent diving Komodo.

The island is also famous for its dragon Komodo Dragon, the largest lizards in the world. A predator alert and agile treasure that can reach 2.5 meters in length and 125 kg, they are known locally as 'Ora' about 1100 and now inhabit the island and about half living on the nearby island of Rinca.

How do i hold my breath longer PLEASE HELP ASAP.?

Ok im 13 yrs old i took on scuba diving with my dad 2 years ago. i have my own spear gun. and i just bought the cressi-sub garas 2000 free diving fins. I want to start free diving more then anything right now. i can do 4 laps in my swimming pool under water with 1 breath with fins. but when i time my self on how long i can hold my breath its only 53 seconds that's very bad. What can i do to make me hold my breath longer please help thank you!!!!

Work on slowing your exhale. Hold your breath until you think you'll burst, then slowly let out just enough air to ease the discomfort. Repeat. Whatever you do, do NOT hyperventilate. It could be the last thing you ever do.

Facials that luxury feel and are very important. Masks are an integral part of the scheme womans beauty. Facials from home can be fun, relaxing and rewarding. Everyone should take some time for them from time to time, and a facial is a great way to do so. For oily skin, use a mud mask base. For dry skin, use a moisturizing gel or cream mask. Apply the mask, avoiding the areas around the eyes. Hold for 10 or 20 minutes. If your skin is dry, apply a thin layer of mayonnaise on the face behind the mask. Leave on for about 20 minutes, then rinse with water warm. Avocado Banana Mask. Mask of bananas and lawyers are combined with other ingredients and mix well.
Apply generously on face and neck. Count 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Avoid eye area while applying the mask and let it almost dry. Remove all makeup your face. Place a warm towel or napkin over his face to help open your follicles and allow a more thorough cleaning. To moisturize dry skin, use a mixture of 1 egg yolk, 1 tablespoon of honey and few drops of safflower oil, apply 2 egg whites to tighten pores, followed by an application of plain yogurt to clarify the complexion. Let sit 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water. Mask Honey Almond Ingredients 1 tablespoon tablespoon honey, 1 egg yolk, 1 / 2 teaspoon almond oil and 1 tablespoon yogurt. Mix all ingredients until smooth. Apply a layer on the face, leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, removing debris with a damp cloth. Steaming, which opens the pores, cousins of the skin for deep cleaning. Toning removes residues of cleansers and refreshes skin.

When you are scuba diving, there is no such thing as a perfect wetsuit, but modern manufacturers have come close to perfection. The area you will dive in will determine whether you need a dry suit, a wetsuit, or a semi-dry suit. While dry suits are meant for cold dives, wetsuits keep your body warm in waters of moderate temperatures.

If you are going to scuba dive in a warmer area, you have the option of buying either a full wetsuit or a spring suit. A full wetsuit has full arms and legs while a spring suit has shortened arms and/or legs. Spring suits come in many combinations - a torso-only design, bicep length arm sleeves, or full length arms, but mid-thigh length pants.

A wetsuit called steamer cover your entire body except the head, hands and feet. Some steamers have removable arms or legs and are called convertibles. A shorty covers the torso but has short legs and arms.

Regardless of design, there is a standard way to measure a wetsuit - using the thickness of the neoprene material. A suit that has a thickness of 3mm (1/10th inch) thick in the torso, and a thickness of 2mm in the arms and legs is designated 3/2. Use a 3/2 one for dives in water that is 60F (15.5C) or above. If you need more warmth, you will need a 4/3 which is thicker. Some suits have separate numbers for the torso, arms and legs.

Like any other sports clothing, your wetsuit must fit well. Flexibility is important to allow easy movement underwater. The suit should not chafe or bind. Since you will be using your arms to navigate underwater, it is important that your suit allows for a free range of shoulder movements. It should be snug but not squeeze. Restricted blood flow near the skin surface will cause soreness and fatigue and shorten your dive time.

Secure suits will have fewer number of sturdy seams - wither glued, welded or uni-body. The material is most likely to split at the seams. Bad seams can also cause sore spots and adversely affect flexibility. While suits which are seamless or have fewer seams are best, some suit designs have to have seams because of their extra features like hydro-lock collars, integrated knife holders, removable headgear, and fire-skin linings for wicking.

If you have to dive in colder temperatures, you must have a good dry suit to keep you warm. An adult can die in a matter of minutes if exposed to waters of 50F (10C) or less. Dry suits come with attached booties that seal off your feet. They also have watertight seals around the neck and wrists. You must wear thermal underwear with your dry suit. The dry suit has sealing that keeps it dry, while the underwear has wicking that keeps moisture off the skin. In case of wetsuits, the design allows a layer of moisture which is warmed by skin.

Try on lots of models before you buy so that you find a suit that fits snug and yet allows maximum flexibility. You will be using your wetsuit for years, so invest the time in finding the right one.

Band Sling

What accessories should I wear with white/yellow band strapless dress with white sling back shoes?

I am attending a wedding in New Orleans on July 19, 2008 and I am wearing a white strapless dress with yellow circles and yellow band along with white peep toe sling back shoes. I am going to carry a yellow clutch but I dont quite know what to wear for accessories. I do not want to wear any bling bling. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help! I have less than two weeks before I leave....thanks
Thanks for the suggestions...from the answers I received they are great but I dont have pearls and the dress is white with yellow circles... I have a yellow straw clutch which is so cute and I have an open toe sandal (white)... I found a beautiful yellow clear bracelet with black wood it is truly sharp but earrings and necklace I am truly having a hard time.;..now that we have clarity...white dress with yellow circles and quilted band truly a cute dress with white sandals and yellow straw clutch...thanks a lot

Pearls. They're simple so they won't overpower the dress and they'll match the white circles.
A short, pearl necklace would look adorable. Finish the look with a small pair of pearl earings. White pearl is preferable, but pink would look cute too.
If you can't find pearls wear black jewerly. It would look mod and cute with the dress, NOT bumble-bee esque.
Yellow jewerly will look tacky and overpowering since a big part of your outfit is yellow.
Try Ann Taylor, Talbots (I know the store is old lady esque but they have really cute pearl necklaces for cheap), or Macy*s.

Emergency crews are very important to be practical in an emergency. They give you the tools you need without having to try to find something in the plans of a major emergency. With emergency kits, you can take the bag and everything you need at your fingertips - provided you have things in your kit. Water sports?

My boyfriend wants us to take up water sports. He says it's a great turn on. However I am very nervous in the water as I got a fright when I was young. What should I do.
It was canoeing he had in mind. I don't know anything about that other stuff some of you are mentioning

Best tip I can offer is learn to swim first!!! In the pool and in the sea. A good first water sport is kayaking. If you are not confident straight away with going out on a river or in the sea, learn in a swimming pool, then have a go in the great outdoors!! Tis brilliant. Then try other sports like bodyboarding, surfing etc and see how they go. Just have great fun and don't worry too much, nothing really can go wrong if you think about it!!

Water sports are fun to watch, exciting to participate in, and have been enjoyed for ages! We have been trying to control the water from the time they got standing as humanoids. Modern surfboards are made of synthetic materials are lighter, and are shaped aerodynamic ways enabling greater maneuverability and the wave motion that was possible. International Surfing Championships are held around the world, including Australia, California, and of course - Hawaii.

Water Polo:

Water sport that originated in England in the 1870s, is water polo. It began as a form of rugby played in rivers and lakes. The name comes from the English pronunciation of the Balti word for ball, pulu. Americans began playing in the twentieth century. Today there are several college teams and clubs in the sport.

For a time, Americans tried their own version of water polo used a rubber ball and a big pool. This game became known as softball water polo. However, due to a high incidence of violent behavior and rough play, this variation was abandoned. Water polo men became an Olympic event in 1900 and women's water polo was added in 2000.

These are just some water sports. There are many others that are just as exciting as rafting, skiing, underwater hockey, diving, etc.
