Dive Mask

How can you stop a dive mask from fogging up?

Just want to see what other tricks others do

Step #1: Clean the inside surface of the mask. After manufacturing, there is a coating on the inside surface that needs to be removed. Use toothpaste (paste not gel) or a mild abbrasive (like Soft Scrub) to clean the inside surface. Don't just smear the toothpaste around on the lens. You really need to grind it in. Use some force.

Step #2: Using an anit-fogging agent (which is actaully very mild detergent) or spit, smear it on the inside of the mask. Dunk the mask a couple of times to rinse of the extra, and you should be good to go.

Step #3: If you completed both steps, and it fogs up again on a dive, I can pretty much bet you only smear the toothpaste around in the mask.

When student insist that they cleaned their mask "with force" and it still fogs, it must be my instructor magic that cleans that last time, because it doesn't fog once I clean it for them.

Tempered glass and standard glass differ in the how they are processed. For the manufacture of any type of glass, sand, soda ash and lime are mixed and melted at very high temperatures. This hot fluid is formed in the glass by the methods of blowing, pressing, or drawing. Once formed glass, it passes through an annealing process, where heat and cool again. This prevents shattering and restores its strength.

The annealing or cooling process is what determines whether it will be tempered glass or standard. Tempered glass is required to cool very rapidly while the normal glass is allowed to cool slowly. Standard glass slow cooling produces different properties to those found in tempered glass cooled quickly. Tempered glass is often called tempered or reinforced glass, which can withstand at least four times the pressure of standard glass.

The most striking feature is like tempered glass breaks or ruptures. Standard glass is broken in general, irregularly shaped fragments sharp. Tempered glass, breaks into small pieces evenly, reflecting a much lower risk of harm to those who come in contact with them.

How do you get the sound to work in a desktop computer console?

A few days ago, I bought a computer from one of my neighbors. Everything works except the sound. I've played with the volume button and played a CD. The CD plays, with all the visuals and everything, just no sound from the console. How can I fix it? This is a used Dell desktop that has Windows Media Player.

Take a look at the bottom right hand corner of your screen to make sure that you can see an icon of a speaker. If you can see this icon, double click on it and make sure that the volume is turned up to a reasonable volume. If there is no icon, you will need to access the sound capabilities through the control panel > sound and raise it up here. If you still do not hear any sound, the sound card may have gone out. Fortunately you can find these very cheap at your local computer store.
