Dive Light
Two birds made a nest on my front porch light and dive at me when I'm in the yard. What can I do?

Blue Jays like to make nests in my trees and then attack anyone who goes out in the yard. Some may disagree, but I don't feel that I should be afraid to go out into my own yard for fear of being attacked by Blue Jays. I had to take my dog out with me for "bait" and I grabbed a big shovel. If they dive at you, use the shovel on them, but knock that nest down. My brothers have all been "jumped' by Blue Jays and let me tell you, it took forever for the bleeding to stop. It's not worth the lives of baby birds to me. I would get rid of the nest ASAP.

Scuba diving is now one of the most popular aquatic. It is an ideal activity for anyone who wants to be united with nature. It also opens a whole new perspective on how we perceive ourselves in relation to our environment.

The opportunity dive under the water activity is also very invigorating. As this is a different world, it seems that your problems are solved once you get to see the life teeming beneath the facade in blue seas.

The nature beneath the surface of the water changes as the sun bids farewell and as the moon begins to shine. In fact, the most advanced divers prefer to go on a night dive, rather than one dive per day. Why? 3. Always have a buddy night dive

Your dive buddy is your only hope against the wrath of the sea if something goes wrong. And the boyfriend also make the experience more meaningful.

4. Get the light dip

No holiday in the Maldives is complete without as least one snorkelling trip. Just one glimpse into the underwater world and you will quickly understand why the Maldives are one of the top dive sites in the world.

The water is so warm that you will not even need a wetsuit (but ensure you have plenty of sunblock on your back!), and the visibility is incredible. The huge variety of undersea life is amazing and itÂ’s easy to understand why snorkelling is one of the most popular pastimes in the Maldives.

Anyone who can swim can snorkel, itÂ’s very cheap and often free to hire the gear from your resort, and there is literally a visual feast awaiting you under the water.

Most of the islands are completely surrounded by a sandy bottomed lagoon, this is not a particularly interesting area for snorkelling though it is very safe especially if you are taking kids with you for the first time. Outside the lagoon there is a reef flat made up of coral, this then slopes often steeply into deeper water. It is here at the coral slopes that the best snorkelling is to be found, this is often called the house reef at a resort island. The slope is full of interesting features with caves and terraces offering hiding places for some truly amazing wildlife.

If your resort island does not have a ‘house reef’ there will generally be boats available to take you to other snorkelling sites nearby, however, these are generally crowded and do not offer much in the way of peace and quiet.

Some of the best house reefs are; Bathala, Kuredu, Soneva Gili, Embudu Village, and Ellaido.

There are also several live-aboard safaris that offer nearly unlimited access to a wide variety of different snorkelling sites.

Remember do not snorkel alone, and always let someone else know where you will be and what time you expect to be back at, carry a safety balloon and a whistle at all times.

I am trying to figure out which brand i want to get. i want a very popular brand that is an excellent value and a brand not known for "gimmicks". I want a tried and true design, and a well respected brand. please offer me your advice. thanks!

They all offer decent recreational gear and none really stand out for an entire product line over the others. It wouldn't be uncommon for you to have a gear set made up of some or all of these brands.
Ultimately, it really comes down to what features you require, your body type. the type of diving you'll be doing, what type of diving you plan on doing when you move up in experience, the after purchase support offered by the dive shop you buy from and plain old personal preference.
You'll find that the dive shop you settle on, will push only what they have a dealership for, not unlike buying a vehicle.
In any event, try before you buy. Many shops will allow this with a set of demos.
Lol..most of my gear didn't even make it on your list, but then again it's tech gear.

Scuba Diving Weight

How much weight should I Diving in British Columbia with a suit ...?

Going diving today in British Columbia, which has been about 10 years since I make a cold plunge, to dive here when I used a dry suit ... Since I'm going to rent equipment and a new diving suits we will use neoprene. I am a male weighing 195 pounds how much better I guess I was thinking about 35 pounds, but I'm not sure ... Thanks for the input!

In BC it is likely Diving a 7mm double. 35 pounds is a bit much. Begin at 24 and work up in increments of two pounds bet they will float about 28 to eye level with the air of his BC, but it's better to go light heavy since this is a fist trip time for yourself. Its weight means nothing. Your body type does. No fat and all the muscles and bones requires less lead. Big, fat you really need a little more lead because their buoyancy is generally more for the same body mass. £ 36 more 3 kilos in weight on the ankles are the ones I use for my dry suit, wet suit to not see why it would be more balanced.

When can I view something astronomical, like a meteor shower, from the tri-state area/NE USA?

When is the next meteor shower going to be visible from the tri-state area? Anything else special that I could see from here? Will I need a telescope?

The Orionids are October 21st.
The Leonids are November 17th.

There are smaller showers in between. You can see meteors every night.

A telescope is a hindrance for meteor showers. These are flashes that happen very quickly. What you need to do is sit out looking at as much sky as you can. You can see the most sky at a time naked eye. Bring something warm - like a blanket.

There are lots of other astronomical objects you could see. Check out the skymaps lists of objects.

Sheffield is a city in South Yorkshire which has an impressive population of over 525,000. Recently, Sheffield has seen some extensive redevelopment and now boasts some very modern buildings, including the Millennium Galleries.

Does anyone know the world record for the number of SCUBA divers diving from one boat?

I know lots of mass dives have been done from shore dives, the last being in Maldives as far as I know. So just curious.
