ok i really want to do dive team...but the only problem is that i suck at diving i can only do a dive and a cannon ball and i dont want to make a fool out of myself infront of these guys that practice with me........and i really like another guy thats on the team...OMG what would you do if you were me

dont trip out, at the practices they pretty much start at the beginning with the basics, and they dont move faster than your comfortable with. they know everyones gotta start somewhere. u should for sure go for it an have fun!

Scubapro Regulator

What regulator is best suited for my needs?

I'm an advanced certified scuba diver and i'm finally starting to buy the more expensive gear. I need a good quality durable regulator for recreational diving (130ft. Max) for use in fresh and salt water. I prefer the brands Scubapro or Aqua Lung . I have a price range between $400 and $600(CAN). Please tell me the model number and brand name of a regulator that meets this criteria and I will conduct further research. Thanks.

Most affordable personal diving computer?

Looking for no-frilsl diving computer. What would be the most affordable diving computer?

Suunto manufacture (imho) the best value dive computer. The entry level "gecko" model is really good (but basic).

I have done around 450 dives on various Suuntos including long decompression, nitrox, deep dives (50m+) and repetitive deep dives with no worries.

Remember that the instruction manuals for all computers say they are only a guide and you should dive to tables!

The choice is realy down to how you like to read the dive info.

Regulator Octopus Octo

Scuba Diving octopus question?

Alright so i am getting ready to get PADI OW Scuba certified and have a question about the Octopus setup...
How do you have the octo and a regular regulator hooked up to the tank as well as having SPG (Submersible Pressure Gauge) attached to it?

Modern scuba regulator first stages have multiple output ports - typically 4 low pressure ports and 1 or 2 high pressure ports. Both the primary and octopus second stage hoses will be attached to LP ports on the right side of the first stage, while your low pressure inflator hose will be attached to an LP port on the left side of the first stage. The SPG will be attached to a HP port that is also on the left side of the regulator.

When the first stage is mounted onto the tank valve, this standard hose configuration will have the two second stage hoses routed to the diver's right hand side and the low pressure inflator hose and high pressure SPG hose routed to the diver's left hand side.

Here's a good picture of ports on a regulator first stage without any hoses attached. The ports in this picture are sealed by port plugs which have to be unscrewed/removed before hoses can be screwed/attached to the ports. The two upper ports are LP ports and the bottom one is an HP port.

Here's the best image I could find of a fully configured regulator (different first stage) that is attached to a tank. The grey knob in the foreground is a wireless transmitter attached to a second HP port that allows the diver to use a hoseless wrist mounted air-integrated computer to monitor his tank pressure in addition to a standard SPG on the other HP port.
