How many Patches do the US Army have?

I just read an Article that they have authorized a Sapper patch.
I know they get a ribbon just for being in the Army.
A patch to put on their PT uniform if they score high on the ARPFT
They confuse me!
The Corps just has the Eagle,Globe and Anchor to identify them
Except the LSB patch for shore party and Scuba and Jump Wings
Why so many Patches?

LOL, as someone who has been in both the Marines and the Army your question made me laugh because I ask myself the same question every day. Most Soldiers have so many decorations and "Do-dads" on thier dress uniform they are afraid to wear it. Whith all of that stuff to put on it is almost garunteed that you will misplace something or put something to high or low on the coat.
The really ironic thing is that in Special Forces we have more patches to wear than any other soldiers put usually dont wear any unless there is some kind of change of command ceremony or something like that. But I can definitly relate to what you are asking. Check this out, Army soldiers who are attached to Marine units for this war can wear the Marine units Division patch on their uniform as a combat patch (worn on the right sleeve) but the Marines cannot wear the same patch because Marines dont wear unit patches. I see soldiers wearing 2nd Mar Div and 1st Mar Div patches and I ask if they used to be in the Marines. They say, "No, I was in the Marine Tactical Operations Center in Iraq helping them with their computers or radios." No wonder Marines hate the Army. A soldier who knew I was in the Marines once asked me how do Marines know what unit each other are in and I said they ask. He just looked at me like I was kidding but I wasn't.

Diving Magazine

Do you remember a magazine photo of dozens of younger nudists sunning, diving at a quarry?

This double page color photo was published in a magazine (Life? Time? Playboy?) in the 1970s (or maybe late 60s), possibly during the hippie era. It shows dozens of naked people in late teens / early 20s enjoying a sunny day at a steep-walled quarry. They are spaced around the quarry sitting individually or in small groups on rock outcroppings at different levels. A few are seen diving into the water below. This photo resonated strongly with me at the time -- I wished I could have been there -- and it's stuck in my mind ever since. I'd like to find a back copy of the issue in which the photo appeared. Thanks for any help.

Boracay is a tropical island located 200 miles (315 kilometers) south of Manila, the Philippine capital. This resort on the island is one of the tourist destinations most popular in the Philippines because it is consistently voted by scuba diving and popular travel magazines as one of the best destinations scuba diving in the world.

There are many centers and operators in Boracay offering diving trips diving most voted, but hard to reach dive sites such as the Sibuyan Sea, Tablas, Romblon and Semir. Near Boracay are also excellent dive sites catering to divers of different diving techniques. Diver is not diving in Boracay an enriching experience because of their rich life different Sea beaches and near.

Rock, Friday is a rocky outcrop near the west coast of Boracay. Expect to see a variety of soft corals to bright, hard trot butterfly fish, wrasses curious girls throwing playful blue pin striped snappers claim on rock dive Friday. Hidden under rocks, crevices and corals are big scorpion fish and lion fish.

There are two dive sites near large, the main island Boracay, known Punta1 and Punta2. Punta 1 is a shallow dive colon and a drop of about 24m (80ft) and Punta 2 starts at 30 m (100 ft) and drops to about 50 meters (170ft). These two points Diving hosts several species of Garoupa, trigger fish, angel fish, sweet lips, tuna, barracuda and sharks, from time to time.

In the southeast coast of the island of Boracay is Crocodile (the island is designated as such by its form). The island a popular dive site and dive is a wall about 25 m (80 ft) deep. This site is also very rich in marine life, so much so that many species of fish and corals make this place their permanent residence.

Crocodile Island is also home to some groups of sea snakes, some up to two meters (6.5 feet) long. Divers have to be careful of sea snakes, because all sea snakes are poisonous and their bites result in fatality.

Another dive site near the main island is the island Laurel. This site is for more experienced divers and more advanced, because the current can be strong and therefore, drift diving is the main activity scuba diving here. In addition, the strong current encourages the coral polyps to open their yellow and orange that feed on plankton that passes. Divers can also find large colorful sponges and huge gorgonian sea fans here.

At the northern tip of Boracay is a dive site known asYapak. It is a deep wall instead of diving to about 30m (95ft) and descend to the depth of 60 m (190 ft). Once again, the current can be very strong. Divers are large pelagics here, as barracudas and various species of sharks.

Hammerhead sharks and giant manta rays are the main attractions during dives Yapak. Other excellent dive sites around Boracay Carabao (Buffalo), Cathedral Cave, Buruanga, Black Rock and Dog Drift. No wonder why Boracay is consistently regarded as one of the best site for scuba diving in the world?

Bcd Scuba

Scuba Divers. What do you think of this BCD?

What are your opinions on this BCD?
I've been looking at the Aqualung Pearl, but its out of my price range.
This one, however, is about £100 cheaper and is good for travelling (I only dive when on holiday, and it fits in a back pack)
It's the Cressi-Sub Travel Light

at £175 from dl, hmm had a look its lightweight has the new and patented Lock-Aid-System with mechanical safety release for rapid extraction ideal for travel use says it all in its description, bear in mind that everyone has their own favoruites. I'd suggest looking at the Tusa BCJ-2100 the only reason being apart from a budget price is that its got one of the better anti roll setups.

Recreating the submarine ET was a longtime dream of mine. In a hot sunny day summer Caribbean again August 2003, I met good friends and colleagues Working in Utila Dive Center, Bay Islands, Honduras, to give a chance.

Our goal was to recreate the famous scene of ET bike, cycling, diving

We started planning our diving. The universities of the country are back in session. There are a multitude of freshmen flood of new office counselor try to understand what is "college". A new crop of seniors are sorting of transcripts to see where there May of "gaps" to be filled so they can graduate in the spring.

This is great news for the degree sought by divers. Anyone seeking a degree from an accredited university are eligible for scuba certification course. In fact, diving can be fun and pleasant meet the physical education and leisure requirements for its Associates or bachelor's degree.

Many schools have long offered Diving sub-program on its campus. Other campus turn to the American Council for Education (ACE) to assist in the standardization of "transfer credits and recommendations of credit to help students receive credits for their educational experience underwater. A university or college may use credit recommendations from ACE in a variety of ways. Credit institutions May apply to their substitute an important required course. They can also use credit as a general election may waive a prerequisite course. Universities and Colleges accepting the recommendations of credit for college courses ACE is often treated as a transfer of credits. Transfer credits are often granted no additional cost. This may reduce tuition costs, while at the same time allow students the opportunity to meet the requirements degrees.

When examining college credit by Scuba experience, students should consult their school counselor secondary. The credit is available to over 15 recreational diving courses (from beginner to instructor), technical diving courses and CPR courses and aid. Once a student has studied the conditions for transfer of credits, his counselor, the training bodies offer many transcripts and other documents that may be provided at school. • Do not rely solely on the submission of a certification card to obtain credit. It is essential that students really understand the personal files of their college. Of course, documents can take time to accumulate, Students must take care of this requirement at least 6 months prior to graduation.

If you are not a certificate diving, contact the Academy of Diving and discuss the various programs College credit offered. This school year is a good time to meet certain requirements of the university and have a good time to learn dive.

Bcd Scuba Diving
uk scuba diving advice?

well today i did my first two dives for open water up a capernray it was freezing the first dive wasnt so bad becuase we were moving around but the second was unbelivebly cold that my hands couldnt move at all and i even struggled to inflate my bcd and equalize does anyone have anyways of keeping my hands not as cold wilst scuba diving except dry suit gloves?

I'm afraid there isn't much you can do here ( I assume you own a decent pair of wet suit gloves). Your second dive is ALWAYS going to be colder than the first. Just make sure that the gloves you have, fit properly and have minimal water movement in them. Gauntlets are better than shorter gloves in this regard, as they seal over your forearm, against your suit and don't leave a gap at the wrist, like normal gloves can. I feel your "pain". I regularly ice dive, over winter and I'm usually only good for 30 minutes on the first and 25 minutes on the second dive.

A Jet ski is a personal watercraft vehicle that can accomodate 1 - 4 persons depending on the model. Watched the WNBA before, but prefer Women's college play. I'm an ex-college (female) stand out (Morehead State) and I agree with you on the women acting manly. I tried my best to stay "Lisa Leslie-ish" when on the court. The reason for many of the "acting like guys" is because many of the women are gay. But there are many like I was, who was not and just loved the game.

I think more girls growing up and ex-players like myself watch to keep the league going as well as people who can't get tickets to the men's game. But you should give it a try and just watch one game and see what you think. Most women will never be as athletic as men to be abe to do different kinds of dunks etc., But also, to be honest, the dunks that are done in the NBA today are mostly just replays of what's already been done like 10-20 years ago, my opinion.

Also as for college, Tennesse Women are a good team to watch. Candance Parker can dunk when she wants to and she comes off as a female being herself!

The only exercises that will help you to lose your love handles have to be intense my friend. As a professional I am very partial to making my clients implement the kettlebell long cycle lift when it comes down to beating the bulge! This is a hard hitting exercise to help you lose inches off of your waist and get rid of those sagging handles on the side.

You may know by now that the kettlebell is an ancient strength training device that is highly effective in helping you to develop a rock hard body. If you weren't aware of that then you just learned a valuable fact. The kettlebell long cycle is a lift that consists of a few movements that you can execute with the kettlebell for a tremendous core and overall conditioning workout. This lift only involves the use of a single bell. The long cycle basically consists of you performing a single arm swing by hiking the bell between your legs to start, then following up by cleaning it to your chest, and finishing by push pressing (or jerking) it overhead. The key to pulling this lift off correctly is learning how to correctly manipulate each of these movements. You see that is the premise of kettlebell training altogether. Its about manipulating movements and not targeting specific body parts. To swing the bell you want to make sure that the arc of it is close to your body. The kettlebell should not be pulling at a wide angle away from you as you pull it up from the swing to rack it at the clean position. If it is too wide you will slap or bang your forearm when you rack it. This is a sign of poor technique. Use your hips and pull the bell up in a swing close to your body. Once you rack the bell then all you have to do is initiate a hip pop to generate the force to push it overhead to lock out. Once you lock it out simply follow the steps in reverse in order to repeat the process over again. Your so called abdominal exercises for eliminating love handles before will take a complete 180 degree turn after you apply this drill.

If you haven't taken the time to learn about the long cycle or other kettlebell lifts then I strongly encourage you to do so. Kettlebell training is not elitist, but I know that kettlebell men and women are just a little bit better than the rest of the fitness and strength population.
