If local water temperatures are colder, I would suggest a neopreme thickness of 4:3 mm. If you live near warmer climates a thickness of 3:2 mm is best. More expensive suits will have liquid welded seems. I highly suggest these if your husband surfs in colder climates. My personal favorite brand has been Xcel however he should personally try on an array at the surf shop because different brands tend to accomodate different body types.
